GSA Automation

Project Goal: Create and automate a process that scrapes off data corresponding to bids placed by the company on the GSA Fleet website and keep a track of and store the information sent by GSA in response to the bids placed that are lost, awarded or cancelled based on the input date by the user.
Project Description: The process has been designed to run every day and get data from day before yesterday. But the user can get data corresponding to desired date using an interface created using MS Access. Python programming language has been used to get the data from the website and store it in a local Access database where user can see or access the data. After which, the Python script filters the emails from a separate GSA mailbox on the user’s machine in response to the bids placed if they were cancelled, awarded or lost. Data from these emails in the form of attachments or otherwise is in turn inserted into the Access database. User is notified through email if no bids were found on a particular day,

Fleet Owner Forecast

Project Goal: Implementing a new Revenue Forecasting process by automating new and expanded forecast methodology.
Project Description: Created and automated a new forecast model using Microsoft Access that replaced the existing model for forecasting transactions, revenue and days for Avis, Budget and Payless brands for the rest of the year based on 3 years of historical data and existing division level forecast. The development also included an interface for business users to influence the model based on their inputs. Summary of Model results was prepared in monthly presentation for upper management.

U.S. Operations Report

Project Goal: To generate Checkout Operations report for US. US has been divided into 4 regions, namely, Northeast, Southeast, Western and Central. These report are used every day by field across all locations in the US. The report comprises of various metrics that aid in renting out cars every day.
Project Description: Macros using VBA have been created (one for each region) that help in pulling data from PROS system and various databases in the data warehouse. Each time the macro is used, it pulls out data for 30 checkout dates for all the market groups and brands (Avis and Budget) based on the Pool selected. The macro can be used to pull and refresh the data. It can also be used to change the order in existing hierarchy of market groups for a Pool thereby updating it and add more or new Pools for reporting.
