Workday HCM Implementation (Benefits, HCM, Time, Payroll)- Higher Education

I was responsible for the architecture, conversation, and design of our business processes from a legacy application to Workday. I played several roles through the project that included Team Lead of configuring several modules. Those modules included HCM, Benefits, Absence, Payroll, Integrations, and Report Writing.

 

Workday Recruiting

I was responsible to build a team and plan to execute the testing strategy for Workday's Recruiting implementation as well as helping with their integration designs.  

 

Workday Advance Compensation - Internet/Travel

I was responsible for architecture and the rteam who move from an old legacy compensation tool to Workday advance compensation.  

Workday HCM Migration - Internet/ Travel

I was responsible for leading the architecture and design of a migration from an oracle system to Workday

2019 - Present
  • Experienced in Workday architecture, project management, designing, and configuring HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, and Security, building reports, and integrations.

    Project 1 - Role: Principal Workday Solutions Architect/ Advisor ( Part-Time)

    Principal Architect for a retail client that implemented Payroll, Time and Absence. I was responsible to work across all work streams with both client and the Workday Implementation Vendor to design, build, test and implement the best solutions to meet clients business requirements. Additionally, I helped the client define and implement an operating model using Agile practices to effectively deliver enhancements and operational ongoing support. Throughout the project, I identified major risks, issues and dependencies along with mitigation and solutions.  

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Advise a team of 8 engineers on best practices for designing and developing integrations. Team developed over 80 integrations using Workday studio, Workday API's, and EIB's.
    • Advise on best practices of business process definitions. 
    • Advise on best practices for Unit, End to End, and Parallel Testing. Team created over 1,000 test cases to ensure Workday was working as designed. 


    Project 2 - Role: Integrations and Security Consultant /Lead for a Higher Education client

    My responsibilities include to build, manage and execute the strategies for Workday security and integrations for the implementation of Workday Finance.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Lead a team of 15 integration developers to design and build around 100 Integrations which includes Informatica as a middleware. Integrations approach and design are mostly API based with some studio and EIB's.

    Tools: Workday Studio, Postman,SOAP UI,

    • Create a workflow process in JIRA to manage all work required to complete integration development as well as report status to the Project Team.
    • Managed and recommend best practices for using Workday Roles without customization.

Workday Principal Architect / Engineering Manager

2017 - 2019
  • As a Workday Solutions Architect and Engineering Manager, I was responsible for managing the overall architecture of Workday's ERP. I created and manage a team of engineers and analysts to provide solutions to our customers.  

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Built and lead a team of 15 engineers across multiple global ERP Projects. 
    • Build and optimized a supporting model for Workday.
    • Optimize Workday Security Framework to reduce the number of Security groups 
    • Reengineer over 20 business process workflows to reduce redundancy in approval steps.  
    • Reengineer over 50 integration to reduce run time by 50%
    • Architecture and implemented GDPR in Workday globally for over 60 countries using Workday 
    • Architecture and implemented Advance compensation.

  • As Workday and Systems Software QA Manager I am responsible for building and ensuring all applications are compliant. In addition, I work on several Workday Implementation Projects which includes Time and Recruiting

  • I was responsible to build a team and plan to execute the testing strategy for Workday's implementation.

    • Build a team of 10 to successfully run through the system implementation

    • Develop 4 plans for testing the configuration, reporting, and integrations in Workday.
    • Organize a testing team of over 30 and provide support for parallel testing, end to end testing, scenario-based testing, interface testing, regression testing after new builds or change to configuration occur, security configuration testing, and user acceptance testing.
    • Coordinate and documents over 1000 testing scenarios and 125 integration points.
